CORRHON “CORY” R. HARPER [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Corrhon “Cory” Redman Patrick Harper, 19, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at his home.

Born Oct. 21, 1992, in Cumberland, Cory was the son of Dionne Michele (Harper) Bowers, Columbus, Ohio and Patrick LaVon Meade Jr., Germantown. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Dorothy Redman; his uncle, Kerry Harper Jr.; and his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Alice Rhodes.

Cory was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 2010, where he won the Defensive Player of the Year Award, and the Tom O’Rourke Memorial Award for the most articulate high school football player. He attended Allegany College of Maryland and was an Assistant Manager at CiCi’s Restaurant in LaVale.

Besides his parents, Cory is survived by his Nana and Pappy who he lived with and raised him from the time he was a baby, Pamela Peck and her husband, Robert, Cumberland; his brother, Caleb Bowers, Columbus; his sisters, Chutnee Harper and her fiancé, Tim O’Quinn, both of Ohio, Tasha Jones of Georgia and Nicole Meade, Cumberland; and his cousins, Chris Harper who lived with him and his grandparents and Logan Harper, Martinsburg, W.Va., Rebekkah Gomer, Austyn and Camden Zapf, all of Cumberland. He also leaves behind “special” aunts and uncles, Daniel and Kelly Harper, Martinsburg and Rondal and Jim Zapf, Cumberland; his great-grandparents, Louis Redman, Cumberland, Robert and Josie Harper, Frostburg, and Mary “Mac” Meade, Cumberland; his maternal grandparents, Kerry E. Harper Jr. and wife, Yvonne, both of Virginia; his paternal grandparents, Lydia Meade, Cumberland and Patrick Meade Sr. of Ohio; his aunt and uncle, Carl and Liz Fisher; his cousins, Alexis Fisher and Tifani Fisher, all of Cumberland; a close friend, Ian Stafford, Cumberland; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Meredith Hudson officiating.

Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
