— FROSTBURG — Leona Durr, 89, of Frostburg, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 3, 1923 in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Griffiths and Pearl (Crowe) Griffiths. She is preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Layman and Gladys Stanton, brothers, Carl Griffiths and John Griffiths.

Leona had worked at the Celanese. She was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren, the Womens's Fellowship, the Deacon Board, and a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Elmer Durr; daughters, Patricia Stanton and husband, Ronald, Odenton, Mary Hare and husband, Kenneth, Annapolis, and Donna Lemmert and husband, Donald, Crofton; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and four great-grandsons.

Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Frostburg Church of the Brethren on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Riley and the Rev. Mark Durst officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Donald Lemmert, Christopher White, Mark Schultz, Jonathan Schultz,  Zachary Schultz, and Drew Nations.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to the Frostburg Church of the Brethren.
