CUMBERLAND — Charles Arthur Skinner, 73, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at his residence.

Born Oct. 14, 1939 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Leon Jackley Skinner and Ethel Edna (Evans) Skinner.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Hall; and one brother, Jack Skinner.

He had served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era.

Mr. Skinner was retired from Swales Aerospace (Beltsville, MD), where he had been a mechanical Engineer.

Among his interests were chess, poker, and golf, along with historic renovations.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Anne Murphy; three daughters, Niki Collier, and husband Brad, Jennifer Bergdoll, and husband Zak, and Christine Boling, and husband Bill; a daughter-in-law, Kelli Hall; two brothers, Phillip Skinner and William Skinner, and wife Linda; two sisters, Rose Pohl, and husband Ron, and Glenda Skinner; nine grandchildren; four nieces, Catherine Chassay, Anita Marshall, Terry Heinrich, and Roni Leigh Congerski; six nephews, Keith, Aaron, Mike, Rick, Jeff, and David Skinner.

A committal service will be conducted in the Chapel – Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at noon.

Military honors will be accorded by Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
