CORRIGANVILLE — Virgil Arthur Taylor Sr., 80, of Corriganville, went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 4, 1932, in Cumberland, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Charles Taylor and Vada (O’Neal) Taylor-Lester.
A veteran of the National Guard of Maryland and the United States National Guard, Virgil retired from Dale M. Kelly Tree Service. He enjoyed his gardening, yard work, family, cars, making crafts and was truly a “jack of all trades.”
Virgil is survived by his wife and love of his life for 59 years, Alberta C. Taylor, Corriganville; and his children, Virgil Taylor and wife, Cheri, Grantsville, Robert Taylor and wife, Kathy, Teresa Wilon and fiancé, Rick Shields, Gary Taylor and Walter “Eddie” Taylor and fiancée, Donna Bauman, all of Cumberland. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Taylor and wife, Ann, Ellerslie; his sister, Inez Kimble and husband, Paul, Flintstone; his half-brother, Walter Thomas and wife, Barbara of Nevada; his half-sister, Mick Huff and husband, Jim, Cumberland; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. with Deacon Terry Stanton officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Rockwell, Mike Logsdon, Rick Shields, Art Bunbasi, and his grandsons, Tommy Wilson and Jeremy Shields.
