MARY P. BROWN [Hagerstown]

HAGERSTOWN — Mary Pauline Brown, 93, of Hagerstown, formerly of Short Gap, W.Va., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at the Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.

Born May 1, 1919, in Alaska, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Lee Lewis and Naomi Ruth (Cheshire) Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Brown; two brothers, Russell Lewis and James Lewis; three sisters, Ann Margaret Lewis, Catherine Siehl, and Virginia Nave and one grandson.

Mrs. Brown had been a seamstress at the Crystal Laundry.

She is survived by two daughters, Loretta June Bancroft, of Baltimore and Wanda Mae Hetrick, of Hagerstown; two sisters, Georgie Wolfensberger, of Hagerstown and Betty Bartlett, of Short Gap; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
