NICHOLAS E. HOTT SR. [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Nicholas Eugene Hott Sr., 65, of Cumberland passed away on Dec. 23, 2012 at home.

Born Oct. 11, 1947 in Cumberland, he was the son of Mary (Hott) Smith and the late Cecil Eugene Hott. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Anita Hott Bishop.

Mr. Hott was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Oldtown, the American Legion, and the Oldtown V.F.W.  Mr. Hott loved cars, both working on them and talking about them. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his son, Nicholas Hott Jr. and girlfriend Amanda Hardman; step-father, Gary Smith; sister, Linda Hott Piper and husband Ernie; two brothers, Tom Hott and wife Caron, and Andy McKenzie and wife Tracy; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 10 a.m. until noon.

A funeral and committal service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at noon with Pastor Carolyn Wilson officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at the Maryland State Veteran’s Cemetery, Rocky Gap in Flintstone.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home on Sunday by the Post 13 Veteran’s Honor Guard.
