— LAVALE — William Edgar Wiegand, 86, of Lavale, passed away at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

Born May 17, 1926 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late William Wiegand and Nellie Ilene Strawser. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Franklin Wiegand.

He was a Deacon of the New Apostolic Church in Somerset, Pa. He served in the Marines during World War II in the Pacific. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1989 after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lisa Anna Wiegand; a brother, James Wiegand; three sons, Richard Wiegand , Andy Shavalia and William Wiegand; two daughters, Vicki Wiegand and Lisa Komula; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service wil be held at the New Apostolic Church, 1605 Maplehurst Dr., Somerset, PA 15501, on Feb. 3, 2013 at 5 p.m.
