JACK A. PIFER SR. [Cumberland]

— CUMBERLAND — Jack Allen Pifer Sr., 73, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 17, 1939 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Hetzal Pifer and Mildred (Alt) Pifer. He was also preceded in death by three children, Gregory Allen Pifer, Deborah Button, and Steven J. Pifer.

Jack was a member of the Grace Ministry. He worked as a drywall contractor.

Surviving are four daughters, Kathy Pifer, Tina Chaney and Molly Browning and husband Ed, all of Flintstone and Stacey Pifer of Cumberland; three sons, Jack A. Pifer Jr. and wife Terry, Roddy Pifer, and Hetzal Pifer all of Cumberland; sisters, Betty Rowe of Flintstone, Juanita Reed and husband Tom of Sharpsburg, Eileen Sellers and husband David of Virginia, Sharon May and husband Donnie of Cumberland; brother, Norman Pifer of Cumberland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; very good friend, Leslie Vanmeter of Cresaptown.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Thomas officiating.

Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.
