FRANKLIN D.R. TWIGG SR. [Wiley Ford, W. Va.]

WILEY FORD, W.Va.— Franklin Delano Roosevelt Twigg Sr., 76, of Wiley Ford, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.  

Born April 27, 1935, in Wiley Ford W.Va., he was the son of the late George Twigg and Elizabeth (Wolf) Twigg.

Franklin worked for many years at Cumberland Cement and was a retired truck driver from Ryder Trucking Company, a job he loved. He was an avid fisherman and loved his campground. Franklin was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War.  

He is survived by his son, Franklin D.R. Twigg Jr. and his fiancee Lorraine, of Cocoa, Fla.; daughters, Patricia Young and husband Mike, of Chesapeake, Va., and Debra Pirolozzi and Regina Twigg, of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Young, Dustin Young, Brandy Young, of Chesapeake, Va., Tiffany Pirolozzi and Derrick Pirolozzi, of Cumberland, Franklin D.R. Twigg III, of Cocoa, Fla., and Kayla Ritchie, of Cumberland. In addition to his family members, Franklin had many lifetime friends: Robert and Mary Folk, of Cumberland, Jerry Ashenfelter and family, of Cumberland, and Rick Rumer and family, of Wiley Ford, W.Va.

At Mr. Twigg’s request, there will not be a memorial service.

Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.
