— CUMBERLAND — Norma M. Dawson, 81, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at the Allegany Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born Feb. 4, 1931, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Berry. Besides her father, and a very special Aunt, Minnie Booth, who raised her, she was preceded in death her husband, Dewey Earl Dawson; one daughter, Donna Louise Ravenscroft, Colo.; one stepson, Edmund Dawson; three sisters, one brother, and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dawson was Protestant by faith. In her younger years she was an active member of the Salvation Army, the Cumberland Eagles, and the Moose Auxiliary. She previously worked at Lazarus and the Holiday Inn of Cumberland. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She made many friends where she lived at the Allegany Nursing and Rehab Center and enjoyed playing Bingo and participated in all activities. She was well liked, her favorites naming her “Firecracker” and “Jelly Belly”.

She is survived by four daughters, Linda Severe and husband William, Orrville, Ohio, Carolyn Barnes and husband Larry, Artemas, Pa., Cheryl Fluke, Clearfield, Pa., and Barbara Lynch and husband William, Jr., Cumberland; one son-in-law, Ralph Ravenscroft, Colo.; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family greatly appreciates the care given to Norma at Allegany Nursing and Rehab, especially from Brittany Lashbaugh, Mike Eckenrod and Victor Strickler.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. in Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave.

A funeral service will follow visitation at 11 a.m. with her grandson Lt. Aarron Abram officiating.

Internment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
