KEYSER, W.Va. — The Rev. Hilda M. Cavey Sewell, 83, of Virginia Street, Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at her residence.
Born on April 19, 1929, at Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Columbus and Rose (Bittinger) Bittinger. Twice married, she was preceded in death by both husbands, Olen Cavey, on Nov. 19, 1981 and Shelton E. Sewell Jr. on June 4, 2010; a son-in-law, Ronnie Arnold Sr. and a sister, Phyllis Bittinger.
Mrs. Sewell was a homemaker and minister and formerly served as a pastor for several years for the Savage River Full Gospel Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Glenna Marple and husband Danny, of Burlington, W.Va. and Sharon Sue Arnold, of Oakland; a son, Gary Cavey, of Keyser; two brothers, Delmas Bittinger and Bernard Bittinger, both of Frostburg; three sisters, Mildred Cutter and Shirley Loar, both of Frostburg and Wilda Meyers of Cumberland; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
