JOHN “MONA” A. LEASE [Westernport]

WESTERNPORT — John “Mona” A. Lease, 61, of Hammond Street, Westernport, died at his residence on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.

He was born in Keyser, W.Va., on April 14, 1951. He was the son of the late Angelo and Charlotte (Kantor) Lease.

John was a member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport. He was a 1969 graduate of Bruce High School in Westernport and served in the Army Reserves. He was retired from Anchor Glass in Keyser, W.Va. He was a member of Kelly-Mansfield Post 52 American Legion in Piedmont, W.Va. and a member of Council 685 Knights of Columbus.

He loved spending time with his very special granddaughter, Jasmine Marie Lease. He was an avid Notre Dame and Washington Redskin fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Amoroso) Lease; his son, Jeremy Lease and wife Beth, of Keyser, W.Va.; one sister, Karla Delawder, of Keyser and one brother, Michael Lease, of Westernport. He is also survived by his stepgrandson, Caleb Dante, of Keyser, W.Va.; many special nieces and nephews and his special sisters and brothers–in-law. He held a special place in his heart for Rick and Pauline Hill, of Florida and Bob Bess, of Keyser.

The family will receive friends at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont, W.Va., on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport at 10 a.m.

Interment will be private.

The family request that memorials for John be directed to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 127 Church St., Westernport, MD 21562.
