— CORRIGANVILLE — Betty L. Cubbage, 85, of Corriganville, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick.

She was the daughter of the late William Burner and Ethel Dick Williams, of Cumberland. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth L. Cubbage.

She graduated from Fort Hill High School, class of 1945. After completing Catherman’s Business School, she worked for the Agricultural Department at the University of Maryland-College Park as a secretary. Upon returning to the Cumberland area, she worked as a medical assistant and secretary to various doctors.

She was an avid gardener at her home on Poorbaugh Avenue, where she lived for 52 years. Her other hobbies included oil painting, ceramics, knitting, crocheting and reading.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Cumberland.

She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Knox, of Frederick; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Carey Knox Murphy and husband Scott Murphy and their daughter Elle Murphy of Urbana, Sara Knox, of Hagerstown, Randolph Knox and wife Autumn Wood Knox and their sons Owen and Jack Knox, of El Paso, Texas.

Mrs. Cubbage donated her body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board for medical research.

Her ashes will be interred in Hawaii, her favorite place on earth.
