ROY M. COMBS [Augusta, W.Va.]

AUGUSTA, W.Va. — Roy Marvin Combs, 66, of Augusta, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family while under the care of Hospice.



Born on Nov. 3, 1947, in Winchester, he was the son of the late Welton C. and Lucille (Reece) Combs.



Roy worked for Federal Mogul for 28 years. He was a member of the UAW 149 and a member of Zion Church of Christ. He was the Scout Master of Troop 84. He was an Army veteran. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend that you could count on. He will be missed by all who knew him.



Surviving is his wife, Roxanna “Roxie” L (Evans) Combs; two sons, Matthew R. Combs and wife Amanda D., Travis R. Combs and wife Rebecca H. both of Augusta; a brother, Karl W. Combs and wife Darlene Y. of Augusta; two grandchildren,


 Josh A. Snyder, Brianna N. Snyder; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.



Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph M. Snyder.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Augusta Church of Christ with John Ward, Minister, Pastor John Vetter and Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating.



Interment will follow in Tearcoat Cemetery, Augusta.



The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.



Pallbearers will be Tommy Haines, Jason Judy, Larry McBride, Allie Judy, Gary McBride and Kelly Vance.



Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Carson, Carroll Jordon, Danny Ruckman, Arno Friddle and Scott Perando.



Memorials may be sent to Zion Church of Christ, c/o Nickie Oates, 389 Mid Haines Road, Augusta, WV 26704 or Hospice of the Panhandle, 530 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.



All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta.
