9/11 conspiracy theories may contain the truth

To the Editor:

The last time I took copious notes was in grad school, that is, until March 14's 9/11 Truth's presentation at the Hampshire County Library.

When they started out their information stunned me and I began writing. Prior to this event, and the library is to be commended for providing a place where citizens can collectively speak truth, I had trouble with the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11. As the hard facts took their toll on my misperceptions I heard my self-concept telling me that, at large, people who disbelieve in the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 use their disbeliefs to ease their embarrassment at having had their faith in our systems ruthlessly taken advantage of.

Hard facts: Fire has never - prior to 9/11 - caused any steel frame building to collapse. The sudden, vertical, explosive, and total collapses of the three buildings at freefall speed can only be explained by controlled demolition. World Trade Center steel revealed effects of explosives and was quickly shipped to China and melted down. Whenever contact is lost with any airplane, fighter jets routinely investigate in 20 minutes. 9/11, two hours. Established protocols were broken by allowing President Bush to remain in a well-publicized classroom long after the plane crashes.

Insiders made millions on the stocks of American and United Airlines via "put option" bets made just prior to 9/11. Eleven countries warned us of the impending attack. Prior to 9/11, John Ashcroft and top military leaders were warned not to fly. September 2000, neocon hawks, most would later be Bushites, wrote their proposed massive military buildup would proceed slowly "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor." 9/11 "suicide hijackers" are still alive. The Bush administration adamantly resisted the formation of the 9/11 Commission for 441 days. Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination, and space shuttle disasters started in one week.

The architect's and engineer's case for explosive demolition of WTC towers is: rapid onset of destruction occurring at free-fall speed; perimeter column steel ejected laterally up to 500 feet; blast waves blowing out windows in buildings 400 feet away; midair pulverization of concrete with outward arching plumes; rapid expansion and pyroclastic flow of enormous dust clouds.

The presenters posed many additional facts which space does not provide. If courage to know truth can get your mindset past its self-imposed need for comfort from conspiracy theories, go to www.911truth.org for more. Be a brave patriot!

Hampshire's library has DVDs to check out.
