We've had some success stories in America, also

To the Editor:

I take exception to Cal Thomas' article, "We can learn from the Poor." (June 11 Times-News)

He cites a few examples of poor people achieving financial success in other countries.

We have had a few success stories in America also.

My take on Cal's line of reasoning is the millions of struggling less-affluent American's and others do not need government assistance, and they too can be self-sufficient and successful as was Cal's few examples. Please climb down from your Ivory Tower into the real world, Cal.
