Writer will continue to pray for homosexuals
To the Editor:
There is one point that I will concede with the homosexual activists that write to the Times-News. I agree that homosexuality is, in a certain respect, "natural." Although it is said to be "against nature" (Romans 1:26-27), in a way, it is no more unnatural than Cain's attitude towards Abel when they met in the field. It is a product of the "flesh," or, as some translations of the Bible say, the "sinful nature." Therefore, consideration of the fact that we are all born with a sinful nature leads to the conclusion that homosexuals are born with homosexual tendencies. Jesus can rescue us from this sinful nature as a result of His death on the cross.
On June 18, I presented a logical argument against homosexual marriage ("Why don't we legalize all of this kind of behavior?"), and the opposition had nothing more than shrill name-calling and false accusations to respond with rather than logical rebuttals. The irrational accusations on the part of homosexual activists, which are intended to intimidate and discredit me, won't work. I will continue to, as they say, "spew hatred and bigotry in all directions" by repeating the fact that Jesus died to save people from sins which include the perversion of homosexuality. Also, now I am determined to pray that those who publicly oppose Him will repent and be blessed with His abundant eternal life, joy, peace and freedom from sexual perversion. Look out, "guys in the tower of Babel," prayer is a powerful weapon and you're likely to get saved!
I know it wasn't a straight person who wrote the lyrics, "Sodom meet Gomorrah;" and I also realize that Elton John wasn't singing about introducing two homosexuals named Sodom and Gomorrah for a homosexual marriage. Elton John was admitting that his own behavior was approaching the level of those two ancient cities. The two cities were destroyed because their affluence and leisure freed them up to indulge in sexual perversions that included attempting homosexual gang-rape. Therefore, I intend to write and pray that society can be directed away from that level of perversion.
