Why can't these people go across the state line?

To the Editor:

I am writing regarding a problem getting a Pepsi machine repaired. We have been trying for over six months to get this resolved.

We are the Volunteer Fire Department in Wellersburg, Pa. We have had a chicken fry every Saturday for over 40 years, where we sell Pepsi products.

For many years we had delivery service from Cumberland Pepsi Cola. Pepsi then decided that Cumberland Pepsi could not cross the state line.

We are one-half mile over the Maryland state line. We are now in the Johnstown, Pa., Pepsi area. Johnstown told us we were too far away for them to deliver to us.

We then started buying Pepsi from Suder's Distributing in Meyersdale, Pa. Suder's does not have vending machines and therefore no service people for repairs.

Every time we contact Johnstown Pepsi to have our machine repaired, they ask for our account number, which we do not have because they will not deliver to us.

We have contacted Pepsi Corporate, Pepsi District, and Pepsi Local and the machine still is not repaired.

Let me say, we are a VOLUNTEER fire department and we help people no matter what state they are in.

When there is an emergency we respond as quickly as possible. We do not say you are across the state line we cannot go. That is just wrong!

The "executives" that make these stupid decisions seem to think we are in a foreign country and we don't exist.

If we are having this much trouble trying to get one machine repaired, what kind of mess do they make on the really "big" decisions?
