To the Editor:
What a joy and privilege it is to live in a town where two trails meet for people to bike, run, stroll, dog walk — whatever.
I spend so much time on the Great Allegheny Passage trail between Valley Street and Cash Valley Road that I’ve come to think of it as “my trail.”
Lately, I’ve adopted it in the way that groups adopt stretches of highway — occasionally I take a plastic grocery bag along and pick up trash. I encourage others to adopt their favorite stretch of one of the trails and make a difference there.
Sure, summer’s over, but fall’s a great season on the trail. Woody Guthrey might have sung “This trail is my trail, this trail is your trail!”
