Neither party is for America, and we are going to pay for it

Regarding “Spirit of war keeps growing, at what cost? When will it end?” by David Webb (Nov. 1 Times-News): Unfortunately, we have powerful warmongers in Washington who desire to totally control the world.

The main force is a desire for war by our U.S. Senator who spent seven years as a prisoner in Vietnam. His entire stay in Washington is devoted to pushing for bombing, or invading any country who disagrees with us.

This is at a cost of our wealth, lives, and the wounded, along with a depletion of our resources. Instead, we could be helping ourselves, or other countries such as Haiti.

But no, he, and others, want to govern any country who disagrees with us. It is not hard to see why we are attacked by terrorists! We instigate these attacks by various ways of invasion.

I too am a vet of Korea and I agree with you, David. Most of our politicians in Washington are only for power or greed, with nearly no care for America.

Neither party is for America. We will pay. America should be ashamed for the direction it has taken over the last 20 years.

There is not enough care in America to vote them out. We are sinking fast, morally and every other way.

If only we turn back to God, we may have a chance, but most people are obsessed with electronic activity, not life.

  • Preposterous Preposterous

File this one under the We Thought We’d Heard Everything category: A man who attempted the armed robbery of a pizza shop is now suing the pizzeria and the employees who tackled him and wrestled his gun away during the holdup.

  • No secrets No secrets

The idea of fracturing for natural gas makes many people anxious about potential harmful effects. For that reason alone, it is incumbent on Maryland government to require full disclosure of chemicals used in the process.

  • Remember, we’re not immune to extinction

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”

  • Tell legislators to do what is right for America’s vets

Without our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, where would America be today? It is anyone’s guess, however certainly not the Freedom and Liberty we enjoy.

Those of you who have been here before know how I feel about the late great Len Bias, who I will remember foremost as Leonard Bias, the polite, spindly Bambi-eyed kid from Hyattsville’s Northwestern High School, who could throw a dunk through the floor, yet had the most beautiful jump shot I have ever seen.
