‘Take Back Your Power’ event scheduled today in Frostburg

Today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John Bambacus Room in the Frostburg Library on East Main St. and again on April 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. the Pure Water Committee of Western Maryland Inc. will be hosting a two-part series called “Take Back Your Power.”

Recently, Dr. Ben Carson from John Hopkins noted that five medical doctors were among the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

One signer was Benjamin Rush, M.D. His visionary statement at the time of the framing of the Constitution haunts us today. “Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship. To restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny equal privileges to others will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic, and have no place in a republic. The Constitution of this Republic should make special provisions for medical freedom as well as religious freedom.”

Today we stand in the doorway of the path of this medical despotism. When political and corporate collectivist conspired together in writing of Obamacare they took a system that needed some basic market reforms to its delivery system and pushed it into this socialist utopian framework that will bankrupt this country and leave the healthcare system in complete disarray.

The common U.S. citizen has voiced opposition to these plans, but to no avail. As a consumer activist in health care related matters it has become increasing clear that educating people on how to maintain good health, while dispelling some medical dogmas is going to be important for us until the time that political winds change and true market based reforms in healthcare are adopted.

The first presentation is on health, nutrition, cancer. The second presentation is the effect that SSRI drugs are having in our culture as a whole and the Second Amendment. Both presentations are free and open to the public.

A discussion will follow with handouts and reference materials will be available. Educating yourself is critical in maintaining your health and health freedom. Please come and join us.

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”
