Why believe the Mayans? They haven’t been right yet

To the Editor:

— Will you be ready when the Mayans said the world would end? But wait. The Mayans’ success rate is zero percent for fulfilled prophecies.

Why does anyone care what they predict? But wait again. The Bible has a 100 percent success rate for making prophecies that came true.

Prophecies about Israel and her enemies and allies — 100 percent. Prophecies about Jesus the Messiah — 100 percent.

Now, according to past success rates, what source will you believe? According to the Bible, the world cannot end this Dec 21. So relax. The Bible's prophecies about the future will also be 100 percent. Don’t you think so?

There is, however, something you should not be relaxed about. That is your relationship to the author of the Bible, the Holy God. His 100 percent-rated word says in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

You must admit to God that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23) and trust only in the finished work of the Lord Jesus to save you. Then you will be ready for every day, including Dec. 21.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father, but by me.” Jesus died a terrible death, not to be only a way, but the only way to heaven.

This is from my upcoming book, “Mayan Madness.”
