Oldest driver hopes airport autocross can continue

— I have been participating in the Cumberland Airport Autocross for the past three years. My picture at the airport for being the oldest driver in autocross was featured in the Cumberland Times-News. I also hold a pilot’s license.

I can tell you there are never any cars on the runway while planes are taxiing, taking off or landing. For some people who may not have an opportunity to participate in other sports, it gives them something to look forward to. It is also very good exercise.

I am in favor of continuing this autocross tradition for the Cumberland area. I would request that the parties involved try to reach a conclusion that includes the autocross.
