All that’s been done is to replace one mess with another

I have thought very hard about writing this and find I must give my viewpoints on this matter.

Regarding the U-about on U.S. Route 220 at Exit 42 of Interstate 68: Please tell me where the engineer received his degree that AGAIN designed this exit, perhaps out of a Cracker Jack Box?

Does he not know how to draw a straight line? What a mess we have again.

I followed a gasoline truck the other day and no way could the driver make the unnecessary curves that have again been put in place with too narrow lane for a large vehicles.

What in the world is going to happen when winter comes and the tractor trailers or logging trucks try to make these curves?

This is a ridiculous mess that the taxpayers are paying for. Then they raise the road up and only heavens know what they are going to do before it is finished.

How hard would it have been just to resurface the way it was?

Now winter is coming upon us and again we will be in a mess.

Please hire someone that does not want to make a small space into a bunch of curves when there are no room for them.

The only thing that has been done is remove one mess and put in place another one.

One concerned resident that has to drive through this and worry about the large vehicles trying to be safe.

  • Preposterous Preposterous

File this one under the We Thought We’d Heard Everything category: A man who attempted the armed robbery of a pizza shop is now suing the pizzeria and the employees who tackled him and wrestled his gun away during the holdup.

  • No secrets No secrets

The idea of fracturing for natural gas makes many people anxious about potential harmful effects. For that reason alone, it is incumbent on Maryland government to require full disclosure of chemicals used in the process.

  • Remember, we’re not immune to extinction

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”

  • Tell legislators to do what is right for America’s vets

Without our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, where would America be today? It is anyone’s guess, however certainly not the Freedom and Liberty we enjoy.

Those of you who have been here before know how I feel about the late great Len Bias, who I will remember foremost as Leonard Bias, the polite, spindly Bambi-eyed kid from Hyattsville’s Northwestern High School, who could throw a dunk through the floor, yet had the most beautiful jump shot I have ever seen.
