To the Editor:
It seems to me that we have a strange phenomenon taking place here in Frostburg.
We have literally thousands of Beall High graduates or Beall High attendees in our tri-state region; we have possibly hundreds who meet monthly for lunch with their respective classes.
We have approximately 10 who are active with the Beall High Alumni Association and who help to conduct the business and to plan activities.
At present, the Beall High Alumni Association is planning a dinner/dance for Oct. 12 to benefit the graduation awards presented to the Mountain Ridge High School graduates.
Over the years, the BHAA has sponsored various awards at the graduation ceremony. Currently, we sponsor cash awards to the top 5 percent of the Mountain Ridge graduating class and the “Moose” Arnone Award.
For 32 years, Mr. Arnone conducted the 300 Club fundraiser to benefit the Alumni Association. The association voted to honor Mr. Arnone with an award each year for his loyalty to the Beall High Alumni Association.
Beall High School Alumni: We need your support. There are various community and family activities planned for the weekend of Oct. 12. We already know this, but we were not aware of it when we set our date.
Our dinner/dance will be on Oct. 12 at Moose Lodge 348, West Main Street, Frostburg. A cash bar will be available at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
As previously stated, this event is planned to benefit the awards for the Mountain Ridge graduates sponsored by the Beall High Alumni Association. Again, Beall High Alumni and community of Frostburg, we need your support.
Tickets are available at P.S. Hair Design, Armstrong Insurance, Susquehanna Bank and Main Street Books. Deadline for purchasing tickets is Oct. 1.
