Humanity’s evolution seems to have arrived at a crossroad

— Apparently, homo sapiens has been evolving for about 200,000 years and will continue to evolve. As we observe the human race at present, we wonder what it will be down the road a bit.

Presently, we may be at a crossroad of our evolution. A large segment of  our race loves wealth, violence, war, competition and seems to be almost devoid of scruples such as kindness, honesty, generosity, fairness, etc.

These people, blinded by their power and greed, would ignore the signs of their insanity and warnings by other segments of our race and lead us into extinction.

Another segment places more value on kindness, honest, generosity, fairness and the like. They are more inclined to embrace Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. This would be the road to peace and the enhancement of life for all.

A third segment consists of the world’s poor, some of which would also embrace the values of the second segment, but are completely disempowered to help prevent the imminent chaos being produced by the first.

When we look around and see such beauty and so many kind, intelligent and innocent people, I shudder to think we may all go down the proverbial tube together.
