Finally, a few of them stepped up and acted like Americans

This is a letter responding to “Senators could have stepped up, but backed down like cowards,” (April 25 Times-News).

The letter stated 92 percent of Americans and 74 percent of National Rifle Association members were ignored.

This was some more propaganda to try and sway other people to believe a majority was for the bill. This was far from the truth, but typical for truth smearing Democrats.

I am thrilled of the outcome, finally a few Democrats acted like Americans and I am proud of them. If only they had done some thinking on the stimulus package and Obamacare.

But, I will take a small victory for now and pray for more in the future.

The writer stated she was ashamed of Congress. I have been ashamed to be an American ever since the 2008 election and double ashamed since the 2012 election.

Maryland is in the toilet ( Liberal Democrat dominated) and America is closely following. Maryland is now the worst in the Union.

I was born and raised here and would love to leave, but go where, when the entire country is now being jerked around by liberal Democrats.

Look at the results of this year’s Maryland legislature: rain tax, raise gas tax, double the flush tax, in state tuition for illegals, licenses for illegals, gun control, early release of criminals and gay marriage.

Like I said, absolutely ashamed of this state. I plead with all Democrats and Republicans in Congress to oppose anything Obama and his group comes up with. We must fight to the very end.

File this one under the We Thought We’d Heard Everything category: A man who attempted the armed robbery of a pizza shop is now suing the pizzeria and the employees who tackled him and wrestled his gun away during the holdup.

  • No secrets No secrets

The idea of fracturing for natural gas makes many people anxious about potential harmful effects. For that reason alone, it is incumbent on Maryland government to require full disclosure of chemicals used in the process.

  • Remember, we’re not immune to extinction

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”

Without our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, where would America be today? It is anyone’s guess, however certainly not the Freedom and Liberty we enjoy.

Those of you who have been here before know how I feel about the late great Len Bias, who I will remember foremost as Leonard Bias, the polite, spindly Bambi-eyed kid from Hyattsville’s Northwestern High School, who could throw a dunk through the floor, yet had the most beautiful jump shot I have ever seen.
