Spay and neuter: Don’t be responsible for unwanted pets

— When you feel you need to have a kitten or a puppy, remember this little animal is not just something you have running around the house or running around the neighborhood. It is your responsibilty to be sure and take care of all its needs.

One great important thing is to have it spayed or neutered when it is time. Don’t let your cat or dog just run and end up having a litter of kittens or puppies.

I say this for this reason. In our neighborhood we had three beautiful kittens dropped off. Two of them came to our door very hungry and thirsty. They were healthy and about 12 weeks old.

We were able to place them in good homes, the sad part is we didn’t find the third little kitten until four days later. This little guy was very sick and had an injured paw. When we got to the vet with him his temperature was 106 degrees.

The vet said he was full of infection and he wasn’t sure what else. The sad part for us we had to take care of your responsibility and have this little guy put down.

I can’t say enough: Spay and neuter. Remember when you take an animal they become part of your family and your responsibility.
