Turkeys, money needed for Thanksgiving meal

To the Editor:

Last year, through your generous contributions, we were blessed to provide a full Thanksgiving meal for over 50 families in the Western Maryland area. This was only possible through your enormous generosity.

This year, through a collaboration of the Western Maryland Food Bank and the generous citizens of the community, we want to help as many families as possible this Thanksgiving. We know there is a genuine need out there and we would love to fill it. Through your contributions, we can help so many. Your contribution is tax deductible and is much needed and appreciated.

Our request: while performing your holiday shopping this year, please pick up an additional turkey for a family less fortunate than yourself.

Contact Pastor Scott Barrow, 240-920-2279, or Jerome Younger, 240-682-0195, to arrange for your contribution to be picked up. Due to our work schedules, please call after 3 p.m. If you are unable to provide a turkey, a financial contribution would be greatly appreciated and we will pick the turkey up for you.

Meals will be distributed from the Community Food Bank, 637 N. Centre St., on Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. until all donations have been distributed.

May God move you to contribute and make this year’s effort another success.

Jerome C. Younger
