To the Editor:
Your headline in the Aug. 22 Times-News about ACT testing is very misleading (“ACT: One-third of grads not college-ready,” Page 4A).
Upon reading this headline you would think things were pretty much hunky-dory. If you read the whole article you will find that 75 percent are not college ready. Shouldn’t that have been your headline?
After all, students entering college should be proficient in all four skills (reading, English, math and science) wouldn’t you think?
