Deer group organizes Garrett fawn study

Cumberland Times-News

— OAKLAND — The Mountain Maryland Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association will conduct a fawn recruitment study in Garrett County Aug. 23 through Sept. 5, according to President A.J. Fleming.

Participants who contribute fawn observations will be given a free gun raffle ticket for a drawing in March. The purpose of the study is to identify the number of adult does and the number of fawns with each doe.

In addition, a large number of trail cameras used by hunters on both public and private ground will be used.
