— GRANTSVILLE — An informational session about coyote hunting and trapping will take place Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Grantsville Senior Center.

Presenters will be Robert Colona, a furbearer biologist, and professional trapper Ronald Leggett.

Colona will discuss the natural history of the coyote, laws and regulations, and trapping techniques. Leggett, who has trapped throughout a large portion of the country, owns and operates Leggett’s Wildlife Control in Boonsboro, plus a trapping supply business.

Topics covered will include: the life cycle of the coyote, regulations and techniques for hunting, how to find coyotes and how coyotes affect livestock producers. Afternoon lecture and demonstration will cover proper trapping techniques.
