Road-killed bear total at 33

— The number of bears killed on Maryland roads this year has risen to 33, according to an unofficial count maintained by the Cumberland Times-News.



On Oct. 13, a 225-pound male black bear was struck and killed on Interstate 70 near Big Pool in Washington County.



On Oct. 21, a male bear weighing 150 pounds died on Interstate 68 near Rocky Gap State Park.



No bears were caught in a trap set near Myersville in Frederick County where a bear had killed ducks, quail and chickens. The trap has been removed.
