Marsh finalist for award

WESTERNPORT — Matthew “Herk” Marsh, Westernport, is one of five finalists for th 2012 North American Hunting Club mentor of the year award.

Online voting takes place at www.NAHCmentor.com. The deadline to vote is Dec. 7.

Marsh works often at the junior hunter field days conducted in Western Maryland. He is a life member of NAHC, a chief range officer for the NRA, a Maryland chief hunter education instructor and is also a volunteer hunter education instructor in West Virginia.

In addition, his wife, Jackie, and son, Josh, are hunter education instructors in Maryland.

Marsh has mentored Jennings Randolph Lake Handicapped/Challenged Hunts, Boy Scouts of America and Cumberland 4-H shotgun shooting program. He was nominated by John Clites, the 2011 NAHC mentor of the year.
