Court date set in Garrett County for deer hunting charges

— BLOOMINGTON — Maryland Natural Resources Police charged a Garrett County man recently with five violations after an investigation into a recent hunting trip.

Acting on a tip, officers located Travis Lee Wilcox, 31, Bloomington, and questioned him about his hunting activity on Sept. 19.

Officers report finding venison in a freezer.

Wilcox was cited for hunting without a license, failing to field tag a deer, possession of untagged deer parts, failing to file a harvest report and hunting without written permission.

A trial in Garrett County District Court has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Nov. 21.
