— OAKLAND — Maryland Natural Resources Police have charged a Somerset, Pa., man with hunting over bait on public land, erecting a permanent ground blind on public land and fraudulently obtaining a Maryland resident hunting license.

Gary Lee Wedge, 57, has a trial date of Feb. 7, 9 a.m., in Garrett County District Court. However, the fines may be prepaid at $450, $75 and $400 for the respective violations.

NRP Officer Jeffrey Yomer filed the charges from the Dec. 7 incident.

On Dec. 28, NRP Cpl. Walter May charged three Swanton area men with deer hunting violations.

• Stephen Monroe Lewis, 36, possessing untagged deer parts.

• William Martin Harvey, 53, and John Austin Tichinel, 49, the above charge plus removing head/hide before checking, failure to field tag, failure to fill out harvest report card.

Each has a trial date set for April 11, 9 a.m. in district court.

Possession of untagged deer parts is prepayable at $250, removing head/hide at $320, failing to field tag at $250 and failing to fill out harvest report card at $250.
