House Bill 215: Would increase the number of Natural Resources Police officers to 435 by fiscal year 2023. Starting in 2015, number of recruits would begin to increase.

House Bill 812: Introduced by Delegate Wendell Beitzel, this bill would remove the requirement that active duty military personnel need to perform live firing as a part of the hunter education course needed to purchase a hunting license.

Senate Bill 525: Would add a $10 surcharge to the cost of fishing licenses. See Mike Sawyers column.

Senate Bill 619: Would increase the cost of a resident adult hunting license from $24.50 to $37. See Mike Sawyers column.

Senate Bill 650: Would prohibit the Department of Natural Resources from requiring a customer’s Social Security number for the purchase of a hunting or fishing license. Senator George Edwards is a co-sponsor.

Senate Bill 754: Would make it illegal to discharge a firearm or a bow within 500 yards of a public or private school while hunting for any wild bird or mammal.
