5/10 - Three charged in theft case

Two local residents and a North Carolina man were arrested Friday in connection with the alleged theft of a firearm from a West Industrial Boulevard residence.

Cumberland Police arrested Nokia Schriner, 28, of Elm Street, and Holli Jo Swartz, 32, of LaVale, on charges of conspiracy to commit theft over $500, theft over $500, disturbing the peace and prostitution. In addition, Burnette Lee Richardson, 48, of Rocky Mount, N.C., was charged with conspiracy to commit theft over $500, theft over $500 and disturbing the peace.

Following bail reviews in district court, Schriner remained jailed Friday on $15,000 bond, Swartz on $5,500 bond and Richardson on bond of $20,000, according to an official at the Allegany County Detention Center.

The arrests stemmed from alleged theft of a rifle from a residence Wednesday in the 500 block of West Industrial Boulevard, police said.
