5/12 - Police charge crash victim

GRANTSVILLE - Police charged a Frostburg man who lost control of his motorcycle on New Germany Road south of Fosters Inn Road Saturday with negligent driving and DUI.

A Maryland State Police report said Warren Weimer, 41, was traveling southbound on New Germany Road at about 6:30 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle in some loose gravel and overturned. The 2003 Suzuki slid approximately 14 feet into a guardrail.

Weimer was transported to Cumberland Memorial Hospital for treatment. His condition was unavailable.

Northern Rescue Squad and Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
