5/13 - Wreck injures three youth

SOMERSET, Pa. - A single-vehicle accident Sunday night in Brothersvalley Township injured three boys, Pennsylvania State Police said.

A 14-year-old Berlin boy sustained "major injuries" in the 9:58 p.m. crash on Plank Road, police said. The youth and a 16-year-old of Fairhope were flown to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Another Berlin boy, age 15, was taken to a hospital by Berlin ambulance. A 13-year-old boy from Berlin was not injured.

No information was available concerning the injuries or medical conditions of the three boys.

Trooper Scott D. Myers said the 16-year-old was operating a 1997 Dodge Intrepid with the other boys as passengers when the vehicle traveled out of control in a curve, left the roadway and then struck a tree.
