5/14 - Seat belt checks planned at mall on Friday

LAVALE - A seat belt checkpoint will be conducted at the Country Club Mall on Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office.

The event is support of the nationwide Chief's Challenge "Click it or Ticket" program.

The Maryland State Police will have its Seatbelt Convincer at the mall at 3 p.m. in support of the seat belt checkpoint.

The Seat Belt Convincer simulates effects of a 20-mph car crash on the human body, according to state police.
