7/17 - City man charged in domestic case

CUMBERLAND - An 18-year-old city man was jailed early Wednesday on various charges stemming from an alleged domestic assault two days earlier.

Brandon Patrick Thomas was charged with four counts of first-degree assault, six counts of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct hinder free passage, Cumberland Police said.

Thomas remained jailed Wednesday at the Allegany County Detention Center on $25,000 bond following a bail review hearing in district court.

Thomas allegedly attempted to assault a woman with his vehicle in Cresaptown and also threatened her with a handgun, police said.

The victim apparently was not injured, police said.

The investigation was conducted by the C3I Unit.
