LOWER TURKEYFOOT, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police charged a Sandy Run Road man with stealing electricity from Somerset Rural Electric by tapping into the power lines.

Police said Mark A. Dugan, 48, of Somerset County, climbed a utility pole and bypassed an empty meter unit with two pieces of metal. Police said the electric was turned off in Dugan’s mobile home in April of 2007.

The estimated cost of the stolen electricity is $3,284, covering the period of time between April 1, 2007 and Sept. 9 this year.
