City man injured in Frederick County accident

FREDERICK — John Sparks, 28, of Cumberland, was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on state Route 180 at U.S. Route 340, according to Maryland State Police.

Sparks reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the 12:20 p.m. crash.

Tracey L. Andrews, 41, of Frederick, was also flown to the Baltimore hospital as a result of the crash.

Police said Andrews was operating a Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on Route 180 over the bridge crossing Route 340 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 2009 Ford Focus operated by Sparks.
