11/4 - Domestic incidents prompt arrests

Cumberland Times-News

CUMBERLAND — Three people were arrested in domestic incidents that occurred within a two-hour period Monday night, Cumberland Police said.

The first incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on Milton Place. Police found the living room of the residence in disarray.

Police observed injuries to both victims and arrested Samuel Edward Carey, 44, and Vicky Lynn Bucy, 30, both of Cumberland, on charges of second-degree assault.

Bucy remained jailed Tuesday at the Allegany County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Carey was released after posting $3,000 bond.

Apparently Carey and Bucy did not seek medical treatment for their injuries.

A domestic complaint at about 10 p.m. on East Oldtown Road led to the arrest of 67-year-old Joe F. Clanagan, of Cumberland, on a charge of second-degree assault. He was released later on personal recognizance.

The victim alleged that Clanagan, his stepfather, assaulted him during a dispute “over the television being on.” After observing the victim’s injuries, the arrest was made.
