Keyser men jailed in separate incidents - 01/14

KEYSER, W.Va. — Two Keyser men remained jailed Monday following their arrests by Keyser Police in weekend incidents.

Josue E. Escobar, 28, was charged with brandishing a weapon, domestic assault and domestic battery following investigation of a domestic assault complaint at a residence in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Following the arrest, Escobar was jailed at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail where he remained incarcerated Monday afternoon in lieu of $4,000 bond.

Police said the victim did not seek medical treatment following the alleged assault and after Escobar allegedly threatened the victim while armed with a machete. The arrest was made without incident when police responded to the 2:10 p.m. Saturday complaint.

Keyser Police also reported the arrest of Christopher Lee Redman, 29, on charges of battery of a police officer and fleeing from police.

Redman remained jailed Monday on $1,000 bond at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.

Keyser Police said Redman allegedly assaulted an off-duty Keyser Police officer who intervened in an altercation in the 400 block of Carskadon Road. The officer was struck in the face with a closed fist but did not require medical treatment.

Following the alleged assault at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Redman reportedly ran from the area. He was arrested by Keyser Police when he returned to the area a short time later.
