Boy struck by car, hospitalized - 12/19

— CUMBERLAND — A 12-year-old boy who was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon on Frederick Street was listed in stable condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., according to Cumberland Police.

The driver, Charles Neus, 71, of Cumberland told police that the boy ran out into the roadway and he was unable to stop his 2007 Ford.

Cumberland Fire Department ambulance responded to the 5:20 p.m. incident in the 1000 block of Frederick Street and transported the boy to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center before he was transferred to Ruby Memorial.

No charges have been filed, police said.
