CUMBERLAND — A city man who was charged in a domestic assault incident late Thursday was released on his personal recognizance pending trial in district court, according to Cumberland Police.
Officers responded to York Place at 11:36 p.m. and were told by Christopher David Schrader, 32, that the woman he had been arguing with went to a neighbor’s house. Although he said the incident was strictly verbal, she told police that Schrader threw a phone at her and punched her repeatedly. Police observed injuries to the victim and charged Schrader with second-degree assault.
He was taken for a bond hearing where he was released.
