CUMBERLAND — A 59-year-old Hyndman, Pa., woman was injured late Tuesday when her vehicle traveled out of control and overturned on state Route 96 in Londonderry Township.
Pennsylvania State Police reported Barbara Baker was operating a 1999 Dodge Durango northbound on Route 96 (Hyndman Road) when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, traveled off the east berm and then struck two utility poles. The SUV then overturned onto the driver’s side and came to rest in a ditch.
Baker was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Hyndman Area Rescue Squad for treatment of unknown injuries.
Police said Baker was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
Hyndman Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the 10:40 p.m. crash that remains under investigation by state police.
