Two injured in Garrett accident - 02/04

OAKLAND — A collision Saturday at 4 p.m. between a tractor-trailer and a 2000 Dodge sedan in the 3800 block of state Route 135 left the drivers of each vehicle injured.

The accident occurred when Paul Allen Tasker, 48, of Oakland, was making a left turn in his sedan onto the highway from a private road, a press release from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tasker drove his car into the path of an eastbound 1999 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Ronald Lee Evans, 55, of Keyser, W.Va. The tractor-trailer hit the car and then crossed the westbound lane of Route 135 and went off the road into a ditch.

The two drivers were transported to Garrett County Memorial Hospital by ambulances from Southern and Northern rescue squads. The conditions of the injured drivers was not available Sunday.
